OrienFrame is an AI-powered portrait studio that transforms your photo into East Asian art styles — Tang Dynasty gongbi, Song ink wash, Japanese ukiyo-e, and more. It's purpose-built for East Asian artistic traditions, not a generic AI image tool with an 'Asian' checkbox.

Every style is individually tuned with model parameters specific to the artistic tradition. Ink wash outputs actually look like ink wash — negative space, brushstroke texture, monochrome depth — because the underlying AI model has been configured with visual parameters that honor ink wash conventions. The same is true for ukiyo-e (bold outlines, flat color, limited palette), gongbi (fine line, layered washes, precise color), and every other style.

Your photo is stored temporarily to generate your portrait. After that: Free and Credit Pack users — photo is auto-deleted after 30 minutes. Pro users — photo is retained for 3 days (so you can re-generate in different styles without re-uploading). Pro+ users — photo is retained for 7 days. Deletion is enforced by automated infrastructure (Cloudflare R2 Lifecycle Rules + Scheduled Worker), not a manual process. Your photos are never used to train AI models (this is prohibited by Replicate's Terms of Service §5.2).

Pro and Pro+ plans include a commercial-use license. You can use portraits generated on these plans for social media content, merchandise, promotional materials, and other commercial purposes. Free and Credit Pack plans are for personal use only. All users — free and paid — keep the license to use the portraits they generate, even after cancellation. We do not claim copyright over your AI-generated portraits — we grant you a license.

Most generations complete in 40–60 seconds. During high-traffic periods, it may take slightly longer. We display a progress indicator throughout the process so you always know what's happening. You can cancel a generation at any time — your credit is only consumed on successful completion.

No. Upload a photo, pick a style, and get your portrait. There are no prompt boxes, no parameter knobs, and no AI jargon. If you want to know what's happening under the hood, we explain it in plain English — but you don't need to understand any of it to get great results.

A clear, front-facing portrait with good lighting. No sunglasses, no heavy filters, no group photos. One person per photo works best. The AI model processes the entire image, so simple backgrounds help focus the transformation on you.

Yes. Cancel anytime from your account settings. Your subscription ends at the current billing period — no penalties, no phone calls, no retention scripts. Monthly plans: no partial-month refunds. Annual plans: full refund within 30 days if fewer than 20 generations were used.

Yes. You get 1 free generation per day, using the standard model (not the 'pro' model). Free generations output at 1024px with a semi-transparent watermark. You can access 3 styles (Light-Color Ink Wash, Japanese Ukiyo-e, Dunhuang Mural). No credit card needed.

We use wan-2.7-image-pro, an open-weight image generation model hosted on Replicate. We chose it because (1) it natively understands both text descriptions and image-to-image transformation, (2) its training data includes Chinese and Japanese visual culture, and (3) the same model family has a standard version that lets us offer free generation sustainably. We're transparent about our model because your portraits deserve an honest process.
